The Charm City Roller Girls Score Big in Second Round of Home Team Competition

Posted: 09/12/2012

On Saturday, October 13, 2012, The Charm City Roller Girls’ eighth home team season continues with another high-octane doubleheader.  First up, the Mobtown Mods (1-0) and Speed Regime (0-1) resume the grudge match that started last season when the Regime pulled out a last-jam miracle that left the Mods four points short of satisfaction.  This year, the Regime have increased their speed and jammer advantage with some new recruits and league transfers.  However, the Mods have already proven to be a formidable force this season, using smashmouth defense to simultaneous win their season opening game and defeat last season’s home team champions.

In the second bout, the Junkyard Dolls (1-0) confront the Night Terrors (0-1) in a battle for pride and rankings.  Last season, the Dolls had a hard time putting a substantial number of victories in the win column despite a mostly veteran roster.  Now, having soundly won their first game of the season, the Dolls are hoping to capitalize upon that momentum.  Meanwhile, the Night Terrors are looking to recover from their first loss in two seasons by defeating the Dolls, thus, reigniting their chance at a fifth championship bid.

All of the action takes place at the Clarence “Du” Burns Arena, 1301 S. Ellwood Avenue.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the first whistle is at 6:30 p.m. with the second bout starting at approximately 8:00 p.m.  This event is family friendly and wheelchair accessible.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15, but it’s recommended that patrons buy online at www.missiontix.com; kids under 12 are $5; general admission is $12 (in advance); and VIP tickets are $25.  Street parking is plentiful and paid parking lots are within walking distance of the venue.

Tickets are also on sale at these locations:

Collectors Corner (Parkville)
Patterson Perk (Patterson Park)
Baltimore Hostel (Mt. Vernon)
