The Charm City Roller Girls’ 2012 Interleague Season FinalePosted: 07/23/2012The Charm City Roller Girls hold their final interleague doubleheader of the season with Female Trouble kicking off the action in a bout against the Garden State Rollergirls’ all-star team, the Ironbound Maidens. Fresh off of an amazing come-from-behind victory against the Lehigh Valley Rollergirls, Female Trouble is looking unstoppable due to the depth of their jammer rotation and solid pack work. Nevertheless, the Maidens are not to be underestimated as their schedule has been twice as heavy as Female Trouble’s, giving them the advantage when it comes to team cohesiveness and defensive game play. Immediately following, the CCRG All Stars (#3 WFTDA East) play their final home game, in preparation for the 2012 playoff season, against the Rat City All Stars (#5 WFTDA West). Charm and Rat City have sparred twice in their history. The first was during the 2009 East Coast Derby Extravaganza where the All Stars were able to squeak out a nail-biting victory despite travel issues and technical difficulties at the venue. However, Rat City controlled the 2010 rematch by catching Charm at the end of a grueling West Coast road trip that started with hard-hitting bouts against Rose City and Oly. This matchup is Charm’s opportunity to settle the score on their home turf. In addition, this doubleheader will feature the release of a “one time only” Flying Dog ale made specifically for the Charm City Roller Girls. Join the fun at the Clarence “Du” Burns Arena, 1301 S. Ellwood Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the first whistle is at 6:30 p.m. with the second bout starting at approximately 8:00 p.m. This event is family friendly and wheelchair accessible. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15, but it’s recommended that patrons buy online at www.missiontix.com; kids under 12 are $5; general admission is $12; and VIP tickets are $25. Street parking is plentiful and paid parking lots are within walking distance of the venue. The Charm City Roller Girls (CCRG) is Baltimore's only all-female flat track roller derby league. CCRG is a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and is proudly skater owned and operated.
